Tourist Guide in Kyiv: About Me

Tourist Guide in Kyiv: About Me

My name is Olena Goncharuk. I am a qualified English-speaking tourist guide and a tour leader, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. I’ve been working in the tourism industry for 20 years with individuals and tourist groups.

Tour guiding is my passion.

My job is to tell stories about history, culture, art, architecture, food as well as modern life. In other words, a tourist guide is a cultural ambassador of the country who likes to share his knowledge, travel experience, and at the same time appreciates feedback. New destinations provide different points of view, and mutual communication is a good way to understand the world, life, country, and self.

My education.

I have MA degree in History (2002) and MA in Psychology (2015). I’m a member of two public organizations such as Ukrainian Tourist Guides Association and League of Kyiv‘s Guides. In our work we follow the principles of the European Federation of Tourist Guides Associations (FEG) and World Federation of Tourist Guides Associations (WFTGA). Moreover, I always improve my knowledge participating in Ukrainian and international training programs.

Checking out Travel blog “Ukrainian Vacation”, you can find practical and useful travel information about Ukraine. Real and correct facts are the key point to avoid frustration and enjoy your journey as much as possible.

Certainly, travel makes us happy, keeps contacts and relations, breaks national stereotypes. For this reason, I’m happy to recommend different places and local people. Let’s discover Ukraine together! Hope you’ll love my country as I do.

Cooperation.

I’m open to cooperation in the tourism industry for individuals and companies especially those who share the ideas of responsible and sustainable tourism. Thus the main concept of this travel blog is publishing useful and helpful information about travel destinations in Ukraine. Please, pay attention that I don’t write about video games, night clubs, or casinos and don’t cooperate with companies which are engaged in this business.

How to book a tour?

Please, visit Services page where you can find a list of bus and walking tours in Kyiv and Ukraine for individual and group travelers. You can book a tour in Kyiv at least 2 days before. In case I’ll not be available then I can recommend you my colleagues, qualified tour guides in Kyiv.

Pay attention that it takes some time to organize one or two days tours around Ukraine. I cooperate with Travel Club Around UA that works in the travel industry for many years and proposes the best tours in Ukraine. All tours are private with pick-up and drop-off in your hotel. The price depends on the number of tourists.

If you can’t find a tour you like in the Services, you can write us a request, and of course, we’ll do our best to create a tour according to your interests and wishes. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about traveling to Ukraine.
